Entrepreneurship Development Program at Princeton College of Pharmacy Inspires Future Pharma Innovators

In a bold step to encourage innovation and self-reliance among students, Princeton College of Pharmacy recently organized a dynamic Entrepreneurship Development Program (EDP) focused on the pharmaceutical sector. The program was designed to ignite the entrepreneurial spirit among young pharmacy graduates and inspire them to think beyond traditional job roles.

The EDP was conducted over three days and included interactive workshops, mentor sessions, business plan presentations, and talks by successful pharmacy entrepreneurs. The event saw participation from students across all years, including alumni who returned to share their startup journeys and practical tips for venturing into the pharmaceutical business ecosystem.

Key sessions included topics such as “Starting a Pharma Manufacturing Unit,” “Regulatory Challenges in Pharma Startups,” “Pharma Retail and Distribution Models,” and “Innovation in Herbal and Nutraceutical Products.” Students were introduced to government schemes, funding opportunities, startup incubators, and the basics of business registration and compliance.

One of the standout moments was the “Pitch Your Idea” session, where students formed teams to propose business ideas in front of a panel of judges comprising faculty members and local pharma entrepreneurs. Innovative ideas included online pharmacy platforms for rural areas, herbal cosmetic product lines, and mobile applications for drug adherence.

These activities helped students develop critical skills such as problem-solving, market research, teamwork, and communication—skills essential not just for entrepreneurship but also for leadership roles in the corporate world.
